This is not going to be a traditional blog review, but rather a big thumbs-up from me.
It was some time now that I stopped reading the Blogging Experiment. It was started in July ‘07, with the purpose of seeing if it was possible to make a full income from this blog within a year.
When I first discovered this blog I was an eager follower, foreseeing this guy’s success, and trying to learn a few things myself along the way. With time passing by though, I realized I was not getting the value I was paying for.
The author indeed made progress with the blog’s income, and offered the standard ‘how to make money online’ content, which was good, but I didn’t quite got used to his style of writing. If I was to put my finger on something, I’d say that the main reason I finally unsubscribed was that he was never getting too personal.
I was never under an impression that he is trying to have a conversation with its readership. This conversation, that can be found on blogs of different sizes, makes you follow the blog for months and even years. That is the feeling that I’m having when reading Darren’s blog, Caroline’s blog, Mirjam’s blog and quite a few others, each of them different in its way, but it is that feeling that makes me stick around and participate.

Late March the author decided that he was better off selling Blogging Experiment. I never knew about what was going on, but only read about it after the deal was signed. It appears that it took it under 24 hours to sell.
Holding my breath, as I’m sure many readers of this blog did, I waited to see who was the new sheriff in town.
Judging by the few articles that were published since, Max Davis is pretty good with what he does. Sharing his knowledge with a go-get-it approach and a very lucid style, he made me come back for more and eventually hitting that big orange button for the second time. I will keep reading his posts with hopes that the quality keeps on its current level.
I’d recommend everyone to give it a go and read one of these articles, to get the general feel of this reincarnated blog:
Enjoy.

I was following the blog also. I agree the content has improved. I try to use a conversational style on my blog. I know i don’t always succeed, and I am not getting many commenter’s. I haven’t quite figured out why yet. I know a lot of people are returning I guess they just don’t have anything to say. One of the problems is I don’t really have a niche. I just sort of get on and start typing. I like your header by the way.

@Mark- I don’t think it is because you don’t have a niche. People are coming back, aren’t they? Try to engage people with questions. Make them comment!
@Mirjam- Have a great time… and Happy Birthday!
thanks man! I had a blast, best birthday ever, now I just need to cope with going towards the big 40 ROFL
Mirjam’s last blog post..Dare to Dream Big!
There seem to be a few of these experiments going off at the minute, even considered one myself. I’ll pop over for some inspiration to get back into blogging.
I also have recently begun to follow bloggingexperiment.com. I love the content that Max shares. I was impressed that his rss subscribers according to his feedburner button have increased without dropping first because of the sale of the site. It has been a pretty smooth transition as far as I can tell.
