That’s not my usual posting style, but it’s my blog and I’ll do what I want, right?
Just wanted to reset my brain with a few words not related to PPC…
When you work long hours in this business it gets lonely sometimes.
By the end of the day I’m dying to talk to someone. Just to share what I went through during the day, the bad stuff, the good stuff, you know? But with someone who has a clue about internet marketing.
But, hey, on the other hand, you know better than to start singing out the offers you’re running. Sometimes a few words are enough to get a brand new competitor on your plate.
So, it’s a constant battle between the urge to socialize and discuss, and the more down to earth “keep your trap shut” urge.
Anyway, yea, back to work… This blog comes in handy after all
haha. I’ve rarely used it for this purpose, but it’s nice to have your own place to vent some steam.
Did you ever feel the need to share something with someone but couldn’t?
I would love to hear that — comment please! $10 prize for the most original comment. *Subject to editorial review. Promo can be canceled at any time without prior notice. Did you really make the effort to read this fine print? lol

I know how you feel. I know how to say what I want without revealing anything. I would like some friends on my skype account that I can talk without about internet marketing and blogging. Help each other out, without telling what we promoting from cpa networks.
Hey Dude,
Yea, I’ve been doing that on AIM with a few colleagues for sometime. What I meant actual face to face conversation, maybe over a beer, or whatever. To get a rest from the zeros and ones..
For example, affiliate meetups are great for socializing and I’ve been to a few.
But I miss talking about it with a friend.. someone I knew for a few years, not someone I met on a meetup. Unfortunately, they all my friends are deep in the 9-5 trap. Clueless about IM.
Oh, now I get what you mean Alex. I have that same problem as well. I got my girlfriend but she’s new and completely clueless right now. I will be teaching her everything I know over the next few months. Hopefully she will catch on quick so I will have someone to talk to about it. lol, I could even tell her which offers I am promoting.
You could always become close friends with someone at one of the affiliate meetups. Things take time but it pays off in the long run.
Yea, I’ve been trying to educate my wife as well, and it’s going rather well. I believe that she will become an internet marketer sometime…
I’ve read the fine print!
Sometimes, even if you feel that you’ve gave away too much, it usually isn’t the case. Your perceptions may play tricks on you. And, that’s ok, makes you be more cautious. So, don’t worry about that much. If you don’t give out the exact offer itself, it wouldn’t do much good to anyone anyway…
Been there, done that, learned from it!
Also, it feels good to share the knowledge and secretive bits and pieces sometimes. Couple of wise people told me, that the more they shared and thought other people, the more it came back to them. Karma I guess, or however you like to call it…
Hey Dragan,
Despite what is said in the post, deep inside I believe that revealing what offers you’re running is not damaging at all. Unless it’s a relatively new offer that’s hasn’t been launched for affiliates yet, and somehow you got first bids.
Otherwise, any affiliate will have the tools to find it anyway.. and if I told him what offer I was running, so what? Probably another 10 affiliates are checking out this exact offer as we speak. It’s not like I’m giving him my keyword lists and my landing page designs.
But, everyone’s so paranoid, so I just go with the flow and keep my mouth shut.
hey Alex!
i so know what you mean, this business is a lonely one, I actually wrote a long post about it “ages” ago, how difficult it was to talk to somebody about it.
Every year I have a family reunion and every year I find myself explaining a zillion times what it is I actually do. Somehow it seems magic to my family and they ask to see my websites, thinking that if i make money with them, they must be awesome LOL
I have yet to find any meetings in my area to meet like minded people, I know they must be there, but finding it hard to come in touch with them, plus really, what I miss most is a normal social life, having been at it for “years” now, I definitely have to start focusing on getting a life outside the puter as well LOL
See… I DO comment …. even if there is no cash to be won:P:P
Yea, social life… ha. I’m lucky I have my wife force me away from the PC every now and then, otherwise I would have been glued to it 24/7
