In marketing, and of course, in Internet marketing too, the best advice one should take is always try to think outside the box. As the competition increases it is not enough to put all of your eggs in that mainstream, ad basket, i.e. adwords for internet businesses or printed press for real-world businesses.
Today I want to share one of the best examples of thinking outside the box I’ve ever seen.

…it appears to be a advertisement for a local exterminator.
[I’m giving you a minute to soak that in… Please feel free to run through the sequence again]
Now, I know it doesn’t come through as very appropriate, especially keeping in mind that the pizza-eating experience has been ruined. But, please admit it.
It’s genius.
Use this as an inspiration for your own marketing efforts.
Consider everything, dismiss nothing.

Hi Terence!
I’m glad you like it..
You mean patent, don’t you? If so, I don’t think it’s patentable.
I’m planning on using this sometime

Wow! This is a very creative idea. However, if one is more delicate and throws up before having the chance to see it’s an ad, those guys could get in trouble.

Hello Alex. First time on your site.
I love marketing ideas like this, though this one made me sick just looking at the pictures!
I’m all about thinking “laterally” and is what I always encourage people to do.
The thing about this kind of marketing is people start talking about it. If it was a good pizza, would they tell anyone? Maybe close relatives or friends, but that’s it. But something like this is something people talk about a year later when getting in conversation with others about pizza they’ve had.
Cool.
Hi John,
Welcome to my blog!
I`d say they would talk about it for a quite a while. This is great marketing, because people talking to each other would always have a great impact.
