I’m feverishly trying to find ways to spice things up around here. My attention is being spread thinner than ever with my wife’s niche project and my own several online ventures I’m just starting. You might notice I’m rather secretive about my projects, contrary to what I’m supposed to do - journal my progress. There is a good reason for this.

There is a saying I once heard somewhere that demons listen to your words, whereas angels hear your thoughts. I believe it is very true, and made it my guideline with new beginnings. I never discuss anything more than I have to before it has had some results. You will have to be patient and wait till everything is up and running.

Spicing Things Up

Anyway, as to spicing up. First of all there’s the useful tool I mentioned earlier. I hope it would do some goodYour Own Product to my readers and hope it would be finished as soon as possible. I can only hope, because my developer is doing it in between other, larger projects he has. But, it is coming.

And, I’ve always in search of the perfect product idea. Besides the Blogging Guide, that is a work in progress and is aimed mainly on beginner bloggers, I wish to create an advanced course for anything. I don’t want to copy anyones work and since a lot in this niche has already been covered, I’m trying to find what added value can I provide with such a course.

One of my beliefs is that having your own product is the most important asset a blogger can have. When you have your own product you are truly in control of what is happening.

6 Uses for Your Own Product

  1. Make money. This is as simple as it gets. Create your product and start selling it. Much more profitable than selling someone else’s product as an affiliate.
  2. Start an Affiliate Programme. This is a way to make even more money. That way you will pay to others, maybe more experienced marketeers to sell your product.
  3. Create Passive Income in the Long Run. It is a smart move to monetize your product by recommending relevant products and services as an affiliate. This you will make money long after your promotional efforts, without actually doing anything else. Sometimes the stream of income would last for years to come.
  4. Increase your subscribers count. If your product is not for sale, because either it is a whitepaper (10-15 page report) or it’s been for sale and already made the most of it, it’s time to give your product away for free in exchange for subscribing.
  5. Use as incentive or bonus in a more expensive product. Same as the above, but here you use it when selling your other products.
  6. Sponsor a contest by offering your product as a prize. This is a cool way to promote your blog. Usually, when a contest is promoted a lot of other bloggers are posting about it, often including the list of the sponsors as a condition to enter.

Now, thing hard and go get your product done! If you have any more creative uses for your own product - leave me a comment, others would love to hear all about it!
